"REDUCING HUNGER TODAY, EDUCATING FOR TOMORROW"
Let the holiday festivities begin! This year we will be taking part in the Great Calgary Cookie Exchange – a collaboration of local chefs and talent coming together to raise a little money for charity. Head to Winsport on Tuesday, December 4th and fill up a container of handcrafted cookies by donation.
All proceeds will support “The Magic of Christmas,” a local charity that loads up Calgary Transit buses, magically transformed into “reindeer buses,” with hundreds of gifts and volunteers dressed as Santa and his elves. Delivering holiday spirit into the homes and hearts of those who need it most.
Community Kitchen Program of Calgary is a proud recipient of a $12,000 donation from the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation to address food insecurity in Alberta. The donation is part of a program – called Fill Your Tank – that celebrates the company’s 60th anniversary by providing $60 million to fight hunger around the globe. The Fill Your Tank program includes a hunger awareness campaign that features stories of what is possible when we’re running on a “full tank” – that is when we have enough to eat. Hunger is often invisible and the campaign helps make hunger in our communities more visible. More information can be found at www.enterprise.ca/FillYourTank (Canada).
In presenting the donation, Heather Rowe said, “Enterprise Rent-A-Car is woven into the fabric of the Alberta communities and food insecurity is an issue for our community. This donation to the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary will support those in our community who need a little help to reach their full potential.”

We are seniors who receive AB benefits. We are so blessed with the food we receive with the Spinz-A-Round program. We love a good variety of things to help us cook and eat much more healthy. Using this program and the Good Food Box where we purchase the large box gives us choice to prepare healthy meals. In our home you don’t normally find snack foods. Thank you Marilyn and staff for your efforts and continue to help those on minimum income. It is so much appreciated.
‘My children so look forward to getting the Good Food Box – always full of surprises. I’m a single parent of two growing children, thank you for all your support.’
