Microwave Baked Apples or Red Pears I Ep. 60 I Cooking in the Community Kitchen
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 Apples or 2 Red pears 
- 2 Tbls. Brown sugar 
- 1 Tsp. Ground cinnamon 
- 1/2 Tsp. Ground nutmeg 
- 2 tsp. Butter, room temperature 
- Options: Chopped pecans, ice cream, whipped cream 
DIRECTIONS:
- Wash apples or pears. CORE leaving the skin intact. 
- Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and butter together in a bowl. 
- Spoon half of the mixture into the center of each apple or pear. 
- Place in a deep microwave safe baking dish and cover. 
- Microwaves vary, start with 3 1/2-4 minutes, or until tender. 
- Let apple, or pears rest for 2 minutes before serving. 
- Top with whipping cream or ice cream.
