Clean as You Go
Instead of letting dishes, spills, and tools pile up, tidy your area as you work. Wipe surfaces, rinse utensils, and clear clutter quickly.
Set Up a Cooling Station
Before you even start cooking, prepare a dedicated cooling area. Have your cooling rack ready so hot food can cool properly once it comes off the heat. This preserves food quality, and helps avoid food-safety issues.
Cool Food Before Storing
Never pack away food while it's still hot. Allow it to cool on the rack until it reaches a good temperature. This reduces condensation in containers and keeps your stored food fresher for longer.
Label and Time Everything
Once the food has cooled and been placed into storage containers, label each item clearly.
