Honey I Ep. 23 I Community Kitchen Teachables
All Things Honey 🍯
Honey is one of nature’s most fascinating foods—and one that truly stands the test of time. In fact, it’s famously known as a food that doesn’t spoil. Thanks to its low water content, natural acidity, and special enzymes added by bees, honey creates an environment where bacteria simply can’t survive. It’s a sweet example of nature’s perfect design.
Beyond its impressive shelf life, honey offers a wide range of flavours. Depending on the nectar bees collect, honey can taste light and floral, like clover, or bold and earthy, like buckwheat—the strongest and most intense. When bees gather nectar from strong wildflowers, those unique flavour notes carry directly into the honey, making each variety a reflection of its landscape.
Honey is also a versatile kitchen staple. It works beautifully as a natural substitute for sugar in baking, adding moisture and depth of flavour. And when you’re feeling under the weather, a spoonful of honey can help soothe a sore throat by coating it gently.
Honey is truly something special—sweet in every sense of the word.
